What you can do with this split PDF tool

This tool splits one PDF into many smaller PDFs. You choose how to split—by page, by every few pages, or by custom ranges. No signup. Your file never leaves your device. Here’s what you get, step by step.

Add your PDF by click or drag and drop

See a preview of your file

After you upload, you see a small preview of the first page, the file name, how many pages it has, and the file size. You can click “Clear File” anytime to remove the current PDF; then drop or click the zone to add another.

See all your pages in a row

Below the preview, you see a row of small cards—one for each page (Page 1, Page 2, and so on). You can scroll sideways if you have many pages. This helps you see how your PDF is laid out.

Click the scissors to choose where to split

Between each page there is a small scissors icon. Click it to add a split there (it turns orange). Click again to remove the split. The “Custom ranges” box updates automatically so you can see exactly which pages go into each new file.

Split into one PDF per page

Choose “Each page” if you want every single page as its own PDF. For example, a 10-page PDF becomes 10 separate files. Handy when you need to send or use one page at a time.

Split into chunks of 2, 3, or more pages

Choose “Every N pages” and enter a number (like 2 or 5). We split your PDF into groups of that many pages. A 10-page PDF with “every 2 pages” gives you 5 files: pages 1–2, 3–4, 5–6, 7–8, and 9–10. The example under the box shows you exactly what you’ll get.

Split by your own page ranges

Choose “Custom ranges” and type the pages you want in each new file. Use a dash for a range (e.g. 1-5) and commas to separate (e.g. 1-3, 7, 9-11). One range is one PDF. So “1-5, 7, 9-11” gives you three PDFs: one with pages 1 to 5, one with just page 7, and one with pages 9 to 11.

See how many files you’ll get

Before you split, the page tells you “You’ll get X PDF(s)” and, for custom ranges, shows the exact ranges (e.g. “pages 1–5, page 7”). So you always know what to expect.

Click Split PDF and wait a moment

When your settings look good, click the big “Split PDF” button. A progress bar shows how far along we are. When it’s done, your browser downloads one ZIP file with all the new PDFs inside.

Text stays selectable and searchable

We don’t turn your pages into images. We split the PDF as it is. So in every new file you can still select text, copy it, search, and use links. It works like the original.

What does “split every N pages” mean?

You choose a number (like 2 or 5). We split your PDF into groups of that many pages. For example, “every 3 pages” on a 10-page PDF gives you 4 files: pages 1–3, 4–6, 7–9, and 10. The box shows you how many files you’ll get before you split.

Can I get one PDF per page?

Yes. Choose “Each page”. Every page becomes its own PDF file. A 20-page document becomes 20 separate PDFs in the ZIP. Useful when you need to send or edit single pages.

How do I use custom ranges?

Choose “Custom ranges” and type the pages you want in each new file. Use a dash for a range (e.g. 1-5 for pages 1 to 5) and commas to separate (e.g. 1-3, 7, 10-12). Each part becomes one PDF. You can also click the scissors between pages to set splits—the box updates automatically.

Is there a limit on file size or number of pages?

There’s no fixed limit. Very large PDFs or many pages may take longer and use more memory on your device. If it feels slow, try splitting in smaller chunks or use a computer instead of a phone.

Can I use this on my phone or tablet?

Yes. The tool works on phones, tablets, and computers. On mobile you tap to choose your file and use the same split options. You’ll get one ZIP with all the new PDFs, same as on desktop.

Do I need to sign up or create an account?
