PDF Editor Features on mypdf.guru
The free online PDF Editor on mypdf.guru lets you change existing text, add new text, annotate pages, draw shapes, cover content with whiteout, manage images, and download an updated PDF. Below is a clear look at each feature so you know exactly what the tool can do.
Upload a PDF
Drag a PDF into the upload area or click the box to choose a file from your device. The first page opens in the viewer and the editing tools become available. Multi-page files load page one first so you can start work while the rest of the document prepares.
Edit Text
With Edit Text active, click any selectable line on the page. The inline editor opens on that same line — surrounding text stays as it is — so you can fix spelling, rewrite a sentence, or update numbers and dates in place.
Font, size, color, bold, and italic
When text is selected, the floating toolbar appears above it. Use it to change:
- Bold and Italic
- Font family
- Font size (step buttons or typed value)
- Text color
- Move, Duplicate, or Delete the block
These choices apply to the current edit and are included when you download the PDF.
Add Text
Switch to Add Text, then click an empty place on the page and type. New text is placed at that point. You can restyle, move, duplicate, or delete it afterward — useful for titles, labels, dates, and short notes that were missing from the original file.
Annotate
Open Annotate from the tools bar, pick a mark type and color, then drag across the text you want to call out. Highlights do not change the underlying words — useful for reviews, study notes, and shared feedback.
Shapes
The Shapes tool draws rectangles, lines, and other outlines on the page. Select a shape type, then click and drag. After placing a shape you can select it again to move or remove it before download.
Whiteout
Whiteout covers content with an opaque rectangle. Drag over text or graphics you want to hide, then optionally use Add Text or Edit Text to put the correct content nearby or on top.
Images
Open Images to insert a picture from your device, or select an existing image on the page to move, resize, or remove it. Background watermark images do not block text clicks in Edit Text mode; switch to Images when you need to select the image itself. To apply a watermark across many pages, use the PDF Watermark Adder in Related PDF tools below.
Undo, Redo, and Clear PDF
The top bar includes Undo and Redo for recent changes, plus Clear PDF to leave the current file and return to upload. A change counter shows how many edits are pending before download.
Page navigation
Use Prev, Next, or the page number field under the viewer to move through the document. Edit each page you need, then continue to the next section of the file.
Download Edited PDF
Click Download Edited PDF to build a new file with your text edits, annotations, shapes, whiteouts, and image changes. The download saves to your device. When you need to compress, merge, split, watermark, password-protect, or remove pages next, use the Related PDF tools section below.
Mobile and tablet
The PDF Editor works on phones and tablets as well as desktop browsers. Tap text to edit, use the same tool buttons for Add Text, Annotate, Shapes, Whiteout, and Images, then download when finished.
Scanned (image-only) PDFs
Pages that are photos of paper with no selectable text layer cannot be rewritten with Edit Text. On those pages you can still use Whiteout, Add Text, Shapes, Annotate, and Images. For best text editing results, use a PDF that already has selectable text.
Upload a PDF, edit text in place, then use Add Text, Annotate, Shapes, Whiteout, and Images as needed. Download the finished file when the document looks correct. Related tools below cover compress, merge, split, watermark, password, and remove pages.
